Technical Project Manager

Role Overview

Thunderstrike Aviation is seeking a Technical Project Manager to drive engineering program execution across advanced UAV development programs.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules and supplier activities, and ensure engineering deliverables are executed on time and aligned with business and program objectives.

The role combines technical understanding with strong project execution and stakeholder management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Program Planning & Execution

• Own and maintain integrated program schedules in MS Project.
• Manage:
• Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
• Dependencies
• Milestones
• Critical path activities
• Drive program planning and execution activities.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Run engineering planning meetings.
• Coordinate activities across:
• Software
• Avionics
• Communications
• Airframe
• Operations
• Ensure alignment between technical teams and program objectives.

Risk & Performance Management

• Track program KPIs.
• Manage risk registers and mitigation plans.
• Identify schedule and delivery risks.
• Escalate and resolve execution challenges.

Supplier Management

• Manage technical suppliers and external partners.
• Track:
• Deliverables
• Procurement activities
• Timelines
• Technical dependencies
• Support supplier reviews and acceptance activities.

Configuration & Documentation Control

• Maintain configuration control across:
• Documentation
• Software baselines
• BOM structures
• Ensure engineering deliverables remain aligned with approved baselines.

Stakeholder Reporting

• Provide management reporting on:
• Progress
• Risks
• Schedule performance
• Resource needs
• Support executive decision-making with accurate program data.

Requirements

• 7–12+ years of experience in technical project or program management.
• Experience managing complex engineering development programs.
• Background in aerospace, defense, robotics, or advanced technology products.
• Strong experience with:
• MS Project
• Schedule management
• Supplier coordination
• Risk management
• Ability to work effectively with highly technical engineering teams.

Preferred Experience

• UAV/UAS development programs.
• Aerospace or defense projects.
• Compliance-driven product development.
• Scale-up environments.
