Thunderstrike EU
Role Overview
Thunderstrike is looking for an engineer to own system integration and verification across the full lifecycle—from integration strategy and HIL benches to unit, subsystem, and system-level testing up through ATP. The role carries end-to-end responsibility for test coverage, schedule control, and certification-ready traceability.
You will operate at the system level, coordinating across all technical domains to ensure integrated performance, compliance, and program milestone alignment.
Thunderstrike Aviation is growing fast, so expect roles and responsibilities to grow and evolve over time.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Ownership
- Define and execute the system integration strategy and sequencing across all subsystems (embedded software, GCS, structures, fuel, powerplant, avionics, landing gear, communications).
- Own the integration pipeline and coordinate dependencies between internal teams and suppliers.
Test Strategy, Planning, and Execution
- Author and execute test plans, procedures, and reports for unit, subsystem, and system-level testing through ATP.
- Design, build, and maintain HIL benches and simulators to support integration and verification.
- Implement test automation, logging, and structured data management.
Schedule and Configuration Control
- Own and maintain the test and integration schedule in MS Project, ensuring alignment with program milestones and supplier deliveries.
- Control test configurations, calibration records, and versioning of procedures and test assets.
Verification, Validation, and Compliance
- Maintain requirements-based test coverage in Visure ALM, ensuring full V&V traceability.
- Produce certification-ready compliance evidence.
- Verify hazard mitigations and link test results to FHA and PSSA artifacts.
Required Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in system integration and test engineering (aerospace or UAV experience strongly preferred).
- Hands-on experience designing HIL systems and executing structured test campaigns.
- Proven background in requirements-based testing and V&V traceability.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary system environments with hardware and software integration.
Technical Skills
- HIL design and build; simulator development.
- Test automation, scripting, and data logging/analysis.
- Familiarity with RF communication systems.
- Strong experience with common buses and interfaces (CAN, UART, Ethernet).
- Solid understanding of electrical power usage and system-level power integration.
- Proficiency with MS Project.
- Experience with ALM tools for requirements and test management (Visure preferred).
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent professional experience.
Why should you join Thunderstrike Aviation?
- Own end-to-end aircraft integration and verification, from HIL to ATP.
- Technical authority across all subsystems — software, avionics, propulsion, RF, and power.
- Build and shape the integration framework in a growing aerospace program.
- Direct impact on flight readiness and certification success.
- Work at the forefront of AUV technology, helping define next-generation autonomous aviation systems.
