The Opportunity

We’re hiring a hands-on Head of Accounting & Finance to own our entire accounting and finance stack and help fuel responsible hypergrowth. You will set the bar for policies, procedures, workflows, and controls, lead accounting and reporting, build out FP&A, and Ensure robust cash control and forecasting discipline, tax, and compliance. You’ll be a core partner in our ERP journey and a visible voice in strategic decisions as we scale production in a highly regulated sector.

What You’ll Do

1) Accounting, reporting & compliance

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close; deliver timely, accurate IFRS/DK GAAP financials
• Establish and enforce accounting policies, controls and procedures
• Ensure correct revenue recognition, inventory and standard costing and WIP
• Oversee VAT and indirect tax compliance in Denmark/EU/US; manage audits and statutory compliance
• Coordinate external auditors and advisors; ensure audit-ready documentation and evidence

2) FP&A, decision support & performance

• Build the FP&A cadence: budgeting, rolling forecasts, scenario planning, unit economics, and KPIs
• Partner with Operations on pricing, standard costs, make/buy, capacity planning, and working-capital optimization
• Stand up dashboards (Power BI/Excel) for revenue, margin, cash, inventory turns, and program performance

3) Treasury

• Own cash management and banking relationships

4) Systems, data & ERP

• Co-own the ERP roadmap for finance modules (GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, inventory/costing, project accounting)
• Define the finance data model and integrations; drive rigorous master data and change control
• Automate the close (reconciliations, certifications) and improve process maturity across finance workflows

5) Compliance in a regulated sector

• Partner on export controls (EU Dual-Use) and sanctions screening; implement fit-for-purpose finance controls
• Collaborate on cybersecurity governance (NIS2 readiness) where finance has accountability for risk and reporting
• Improve vendor/customer onboarding with due diligence, terms, and documentation aligned to regulation

6) Team leadership & ways of working

• Build and lead a small, high-calibre accounting team (accounting, FP&A) with clear roles and SLAs
• Create simple, documented procedures and training; enable self-service where possible
• Model high judgment, urgency, and partnership with Operations and Commercial

Decision Rights & Autonomy

• Set and enforce finance policies, controls, and close timelines
• Approve budgets within agreed thresholds and sign routine payments per delegated authority
• Select and manage external advisors (audit, tax, banking) and finance tools within budget
• Define cost standards and pricing guardrails jointly with Operations and Commercial

Qualifications

Must-have

• 10+ years of acccounting experience including team leadership; mix of accounting and FP&A
• Manufacturing exposure with strong cost accounting (standard cost, variance analysis, inventory, WIP)
• Expertise in IFRS; experience with audits and statutory compliance, knowledge of GAAP
• Hands-on with ERP finance modules and Microsoft 365; advanced Excel/Power BI
• Proven ability to design procedures, workflows, and internal controls in a scaling environment
• Fluent in English; Danish proficiency highly valued
• Eligible for Danish/NATO-security clearance

Nice to have

• Background in Big 4/public audit or transaction services
• Exposure to export controls/sanctions compliance processes and cybersecurity governance (e.g., NIS2)
• Familiarity with defense-sector customer requirements and long-cycle program accounting
