Odense, Denmark – August 23, 2025
Thunderstrike has marked a major milestone with the official opening of its new European production facility at Hans Christian Andersen Airport. The 58,000 sq. ft headquarters welcomed dignitaries, public officials, and civil-sector leaders from across the European region for a first look at Thunderstrike’s next-generation unmanned aerial systems (UAS), purpose-built for surveillance, border patrol, and large-scale monitoring operations.
Precision Engineering Meets Operational Readiness
Guests were treated to a live flight demonstration of the Fantom MK2, Thunderstrike’s flagship UAS platform available in both fixed-wing and VTOL variants. Designed for high-endurance missions, the Fantom MK2 delivers 30+ hours of continuous flight, a 45 kg modular payload, and multi-fuel propulsion- offering unmatched flexibility for wide-area monitoring applications.
“The energy and interest at the event reflect a growing demand for reliable, autonomous aerial systems that serve real-world civil needs,” said Thunderstrike Founder & CEO, David Schmidt. “This new facility is a launchpad, not just for production, but for long-term collaboration across the globe.”
Highlights from the Grand Opening
- Demonstration showcasing surveillance capabilities, intelligent flight planning, and advanced sensor payloads.
- Strategic partnerships initiated with regional collaborators in Odense’s growing drone cluster.
- Strong interest in Thunderstrike’s scalable production capacity—targeting up to 500 systems annually from the new hub.
A European Launch with Global Potential
